Independent EU parcel guide
AliExpress customs charges in the EU: a practical checklist
AliExpress orders can involve different sellers, consolidated logistics and more than one parcel. The customs estimate should follow each real consignment and its declaration contents.
One checkout can involve several sellers
Goods from different sellers can travel separately or be consolidated. The official consignment concept looks at the consignor, consignee, transport, origin territory and packing/transport arrangement. A consumer-facing order number is not always the same thing as one customs consignment.
Use tracking numbers and package details to decide whether separate calculations are more realistic.
VAT evidence matters more than a platform assumption
Look for VAT in the order detail, invoice or tax summary. If VAT was correctly collected for the EU destination, the calculator estimates no additional import VAT. That does not make the temporary customs duty disappear.
Product variety can raise the declaration-item count
Electronics, cases, cables, watches, tools and clothing are unlikely to share one tariff classification simply because they arrive together. Multiple identical units may still share a line.
- Count distinct likely classifications inside each actual parcel.
- Do not use item quantity as a shortcut.
- Treat an origin or tariff preference claim as out of scope.
- Keep any known carrier fee separate and enter it manually.
When the calculator should stop
Parcels above €150, restricted products, excise goods and complex origin claims need normal tariff and declaration analysis. Use Access2Markets for the product and trading route rather than extending the flat formula.
